Clavos Designs
Clavos is the spanish word for "nails" and have been
used to decorate doors, furniture, cabinets, corbels, and just
about everything else in your home. If a design that you are
interested in has the word "clavos" in the design
name, then that design is priced with the clavos on one side
of the door.
You can order extra clavos to be added to any door or you can
just order clavos for any other project that you may be working
on!
Clavos, regardless of whether you want them for a door, do not
come attached to the door. You need to finish and seal your
doors before you add any hardware. Installation is an easy process
if you just take the care needed. It is recommended that you
pre-drill before attempting to install any clavos. Use a tape
measure and a pencil to equally mark where you want to install
the clavos. Step away from the door and make sure that you are
happy where you have marked them for install. Pre-drill the
holes with an 1/8" bit - you only need to drill approximately
1/2". Take one of the clavos and place the nail head into
the predrilled hole. Use either a rubber mallet - or take a
cup towel and fold multiple times and place it over the nail
head - and hammer the nail head in as straight as possible.
Repeat until done. Click
here for printable instructions on how to install clavos.
If you end up breaking the head or bending the nail too much
- it is almost easier to order another clavo. We can send you
one UPS usually the same day.
We used to carry many more designs and color options but we
could not find a source that could consistently guarantee availability
and similar finish. We have found that these three designs fit
most decors!
